Summer year round! Aruba is beautiful, modern, clean, safe and relatively reasonably priced. The smallest and most westerly of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao), Aruba is just 19.6 miles long and 6 miles wide. It lies 19 miles north of Venezuela and -- an important consideration for vacationers -- lies completely outside the hurricane belt.
Aruba's heritage is Dutch, although strongly influenced by the Indian culture that initially inhabited Aruba and a blend of Spanish and other nationalities who have settled in Aruba over the centuries. By nature, Arubans are friendly, mild-mannered and have a keen sense of hospitality. They go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay!
The unemployment rate is very low and, not surprisingly, so is the crime rate, giving it a reputation as a safe place to visit. It is illegal in Aruba to sell on the streets or at the beach, so vendors won't pester you, as is often the case in other Caribbean destinations. Aruba offers everything it takes to make the perfect vacation. It is an ideal vacation destination that blends a tropical island paradise in the Southern Caribbean with the old world charm of Europe. And yet, Aruba offers ease in getting around, gracious hospitality and friendly people. English and Spanish are spoken widely. With the natural spirit of hospitality that Arubans share, the attention to service will complete your ideal vacation. After all, "it's where happiness lives!" You can enjoy Aruba year round. It is one of the most temperate islands in the Caribbean, with a climate that is just as comfortable in July or January. In general, a good description of Aruba's climate and weather is: It's always summer in Aruba and it's always dry. There is little variation from the yearly average of 81 degrees. Another plus for vacationers is the virtual guarantee of sunny weather. There is no fear of an unexpected hurricane that could mean disaster for your vacation of a lifetime.
On one side of the island, the Atlantic crashes over rocks, coral bridges and cliffs. On the other, an inviting and tranquil Caribbean seas is perfect for snorkeling and swimming. In between lies a desert landscape with a charming lighthouse and windmills, towering cacti and unique twisted divi divi trees. Mix all that with modern resorts, fabulous dining, glitzy casinos, relaxing spas, sun-drenched beaches and natural beauty…and Aruba has something for everyone!
